The Montgomery County Economic Development Council (EDC) is proud to announce that Costco Wholesale, a nationally recognized top-performing retailer, is one step closer to coming to Clarksville, pending County Commission final approval.
This highly anticipated addition represents a milestone economic achievement for the community and a testament to the unified efforts of local leadership. The Costco Wholesale store will be the anchor tenant of the 220-acre Freedom Farms development. Phase 1 of the Freedom Farms project includes 74 acres located between Ted Crozier and I-24. Costco will serve as the anchor tenant and occupy 25 of the 74 available acres. The city and county will receive 100% of the sales tax generated from the surrounding commercial tenants who will occupy the remaining acres. In total, the Freedom Farms project spans more than 200 acres across all phases.
Freedom Farms will be under construction in the spring of 2027. At this time, the EDC believes that Costco will be open in the spring of 2028. Additional co-tenants will be announced in the coming months.
With an average annual sales figure of $250 million, Costco is one of the most sought-after retailers in the nation. The Tennessee market consistently ranks among Costco’s best-performing regions, making this a strategic and impactful win for Clarksville.
